Productivity Tip: RSS on the iPhone

So, I removed my RSS reader from my Dock (previously running constantly and showing me that there are thousands of great things going on on the internets) because I decided that RSS is essentially a distraction, and distractions belong on my handset.

Brent Simmons’ NetNewsWire for iPhone is a decent-enough 1.0 release (apparently his software updates are bottled up at Apple’s store review process — so much for rapid iteration) that I’ve relegated reading about local real estate trends, restaurant openings, and bits of Python academia to the time I’d ordinarily spend waiting for something else to happen.

OMG. No more indulgence in passive information consumption means that I tend to focus a lot more on whatever the 150 tasks are at hand. I’m a little behind about Michael Mina’s Clock Bar opening, but I think I can handle it.
