Infrared Grills

I am considering buying an infrared grill when I get back from vacation.

There are models from Solaire and Turbo Sport to be had for under $500; though Amazon no longer sells the latter, I bet I can find it somewhere.

Has anyone tried these products, or this class of product? I am a big fan of burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, and you guys (by you I mean the Internet) was so helpful with the Rancilio Silvia purchase that I figured it makes sense to ask.

I also wonder if an infrared grill at 700 degrees could be used to make thin crust pizza in 30 seconds.
