CocoaMySQL is pretty neat but the user interface is kinda awful and it tends to choke on nearly any dataset we have here at Slide.
I am looking for something to use on Mac OS X that is a little less painful than the MySQL command prompt and not quite as insane looking as SQLyog on Windows.
Any recommendations?

I think it is fairly decent set of tools 
I use SQLyog on Windows and it rocks as far as features and speed is concerned.
Pretty bad - its not available on Mac.
Or just learn to use the command line tool…
YourSQL is OK…
I’ve always been a fan of phpMyAdmin. It can be a pain to setup PHP, but I haven’t found a better tool, yet.
have you tried YourSQL?
It’s not free, but the best I’ve found is Navicat. It’s pretty robust and works well. Also available for Postgres and windows & mac.
