Your update, when you say the keyboard goes nuts, is I think because of strong light sources. I have the same problem, but when I turn down the lights in my room, the whackyness goes away...weird!

Interesting. Seems like a very nice but expensive gadjet. I use a RF wireless nmediapc ($40) with a built in trackball. It has volume control and no drivers are required. It controls my Mac Mini hooked up to a TV. It takes 2 batteries and these just seem to last forever. The only downside I can see is if the optical trackball were to start sticking due to dirt. I wouldn't know how to clean it as you can't remove it. It hasn't happened yet and at $40 I'd go through 5 keyboards by the time I reached Logitech's price. The nmediapc keyboard states Mac OSX support. Logitech has been on and off with its Mac support over the years. I'd be very careful before throwing them $200.

AFAIK Logitech never provided any updated drivers for this spiffy, but in retrospect, overpriced keyboard. Had I known that Apple was going to release a wirless keyboard of their own design six months later I might've waited.

IMHO you absolutely need a keyboard for a media center Mac -- while in general you can get a lot done on Mac OS X using just the mouse (the Logitch diNovo's trackpad is so poor that I replaced it with the excellent Gyration air mouse some months later), lots of media-center like tasks (e.g., download queuing, renaming files, copying them around, etc.) are just so much easier with a keyboard/mouse pair than with the limited remote-control interfaces available.

If I were building the system again I'd probably get the Apple wireless keyboard and the Gyration air mouse, the latter is much easier to use than a TV or Apple remote control. Plus, without a keyboard, how are you going to play MacMAME games on a HDTV? That's 1/6th the fun of the media center Mac. :)

[...] Got one of these for the G5 Media Center this week. For some reason I decided I wanted it now, so I got one from CompUSA on Sunday, then the first unit had a defective charger base and I only got the exchange done today. I am adding this wireless mouse since the touch disc trackpad on the Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard leaves a lot to be desired. [...]

I've got a PC so I'm not sure if this will help but I had a lot of the problems listed in here using the newest setpoint-driver, version 3.3. Since I started using the one from the cd, 3.1 all the problems went away..

I have a Mac Mini set up as a media centre in the lounge and ordered the diNovo as a replacement for the crap keyboard/trackball I bought on ebay. It was delivered about an hour ago and set-up was painless using the Mini's built-in bluetooth. The Mac asked me to press the buttons near the shift keys and there you go.

Keyboard is working well so far but I also hate the track disc. The scroll function forgets what I'm trying to do about half way round so the page stops scrolling and the pointer shoots off somewhere. The pad is also so small it's impossible to go from one side of a screen to another (even a relatively low-res 1280x720 on the plasma) without lifting your finger up and down a few times. Cramp city.

Still, it will do until Apple sees fit to release a wirelss keyboard with a MacBook-style trackpad. A guy can dream...

I found your page while looking for a driver to map the pad better, and maybe activate some of the special keys. I also found this page which talks about using a shareware utility called ControllerMate to map the special keys. I'm about to go and try that now.

The Keyboard works very well with my Mac Mini 1,83 GHz! No Problem connecting via Bluetooth. All works great and, contrary to the reviewer, the ToucheDisk works very well for me.

I use the Mac Mini as Mediacenter on my 42' Toshiba 42WLT68P LCD TV and it is a perfect package eith the Edge Keyboard. The design matches, too!

Only the zoombuttons and extra keys above th F-Keys don't work wirm Mac OS X

I can't get the keyboard to pair with my G5 (using a Kensington Bluetooth 2.0 adapater). It sees the device, and then asks me to type in a Passkey and hit return. I do that, but nothing happens. I've tried using a clear passkey, and no passkey, but neither works.

I tried using the supplied adapter, but my G5 doesn't even register it as a bluetooth adapter.
