I know I'm late to this conversation, but I thought I'd post a comment anyway.

I've used Qt some. It's possible to get a very good Mac experience out of Qt4, but it is not easy. Most of the Qt applications you've seen on the Mac have been based on Qt3 and have had no Mac polishing done on them at all.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a single good publicly-available example. It's awesome how bad most of the Qt applications I've seen are. The only explanation I have is that Windows programmers are able to get their creations to run on Mac OS X without much effort. So that's exactly how much effort they put in.

QT/Mac makes a more bloated app than Cocoa. There is no case in which this will not be true.
"Blame the programmer".
Show me one app built using QT which doesn't look and feel awful. I'm not even asking for 60% good, just not awful.

Since when is QT subpar technology? It's not bloated if packaged correctly - no more bloated than it would be if compiled with other frameworks.

How is QT/Mac awful? Ignoring badly written / packaged apps that use it.
